After spending years in the snowbelt of Northeastern Ohio and surviving raging winds and tumbleweed in West Texas, Nicole Pesecky is pleased to be in Central Florida and excited to be a member of the WKMG Local 6 News team!
Nicole began her broadcasting career at the FOX affiliate, KJTV in Lubbock, Texas. There, her love of the news business grew and she took on several titles, including, reporter, producer and associate producer. Her hard work was noticed, and in 2006 she was given the opportunity to work for KCBD, the NBC affiliate as the Daybreak Today morning reporter as well as anchor of the 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday newscasts.
An Ohio native, Nicole graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2005. She got the chance to make her way back to the Midwest in 2007, helping viewers with their daily commute in the midst of torturous snow storms as Traffic Reporter for WOIO, the CBS affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio.
Nicole returned to West Texas in 2009 working as an anchor, general assignment reporter and an investigative reporter for KCBD. Some of her work has included investigations on toxic waste dumped from the Hudson River, uncovering faulty diabetic testing strips, exposing city corruption and busting up a major national drug trafficking ring that lead to the arrests of two sheriff’s deputies.
Nicole loves to spend time with her family; Golfing with her husband, Matt, and cuddling with her new baby girl, Juliana. She also enjoys relaxing with a good book or playing fetch with Bella, her mini-schnauzer.
