A teenager died and four others were seriously hurt after overdosing on an unknown substance, Orange County officials say.

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -

A teenager died and four others were seriously hurt early Sunday morning after overdosing on an unknown substance, Orange County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies were called to a home at 14308 Vista Del Lago Boulevard in the Four Corners area of Orange County around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies said when they arrived, they found five people -- three males and two girls -- unconscious after overdosing on a substance.

Late Sunday, OCSO confirmed that 17-year-old Krystopher Sansone died as a result of the overdose.  Three of the other four have been released from the hospital.

Deputies said the patients' ages range from late teens to early 20s.

Friends of the teens say the group may have been partying while the homeowner was away on vacation. They also told Local 6 that the group may have ingested the drug commonly referred to as bath salts.

"He got into the wrong crowd and I tried to talk to him about it,: said Brandon Gibbens, a friend of Sansone and his former neighbor. "He's a good kid, he's respectful."

Sansone's uncle tells Local 6 the family is heart-broken.

Orange County sheriff's drug enforcement unit is investigating and will be working to determine if criminal charges will be filed.
