Gunshots rang out at two homes in Sanford, injuring one man, according to police

Sanford police are searching for the person who shot a man outside a home and earlier fired shots at another house.

The shootings happened late Monday at homes on 20th Street and Elm Avenue, which are located two blocks from each other.

According to Sanford police, people were outside a home in the 2500 block of Elm Avenue when a dark two-door Honda pulled up and shots were fired at the group and the home.  A man was struck in the shoulder and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Just prior to that shooting, shots were fired at a home at 1404 East 20th Street.  No one was injured, however.

Police said the residents at the homes are related, and it's believed the shootings are connected.

No other details, including the man's name or age, have been released.

Anyone with information about the shootings is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
