NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -

The Volusia County Beach Patrol confirmed two men were bitten Saturday afternoon in New Smyrna Beach.

Beach Patrol officials said both adults were bitten near the jetties around 4 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said both men, one of which is from New Smyrna Beach, the other from Oviedo, did not have to be transported by ambulance, but both drove themselves to the hospital to be treated.

Purple flags will continue to fly through the weekend warning people there are sharks in the water, which can be seen near the coast.
