Osceola County deputies arrested 28 suspects on lewd and lascivious battery charges after a five-day Internet child sex sting.
Led by Osceola County deputies, the investigation on Nov. 20-24 resulted in arrests ranging from battery to traveling to seduce a child for sex and other sex and drug crimes.
Undercover detectives posed as juveniles or the parent or guardian of a juvenile to talk with individuals in chat rooms and instant messaging. The suspects would travel to an undercover house in Osceola County with the purpose of having sex with a child, according to a report.
One suspect, Michele Cassetta, was on business from Italy when he tried to pick up a 14-year-old girl online for sex, according to deputies. Raymond Foy, an active member of the U.S. Army, traveled from Tampa to a Kissimmee fast food restaurant to meet up with an underaged girl.
Other arrestees included a married couple, substitute teacher and a former Navy pilot. All the suspects were booked into the Osceola County Jail.
