KISSIMMEE, Fla. -

A 5-year-old girl was dropped off at the wrong bus stop Monday in Osceola County, about 4 miles from her home, causing a panic-filled afternoon for her mother.

The girl attends Neptune Elementary in Kissimmee, but on the first day of school the bus driver dropped her off at the wrong apartment complex.

"She was supposed to get off bus 121 at Villa Verano and she did not get off the bus, and the bus driver told me the first stop was Neptune Apartments so I'm searching over here and I can't find my daughter," a woman said to a 911 dispatcher.

Workers at the apartment complex where the girl was dropped off noticed the girl, and another classmate, and took them into the clubhouse to watch TV until the woman was able to track down her daughter, a process that took 90 minutes.

The school district told Local 6 that bus drivers have a list of students and their assigned bus stops and called the incident "unacceptable."

The spokeswoman said drivers will be informed again about following proper procedures.
