Seventy-one swans, with ties to the royal family, are removed from a Florida lake for vaccinations.

LAKELAND, Fla. -

Crews spent Tuesday wrangling up 71 swans from a Florida Lake for their yearly vet check-up.

The city of Lakeland has done the round-up for 33 years. The birds are taken from Lake Morton to the vet to get vaccinated and checked out. The effort is to keep the birds healthy.

The swans are important for Lakeland. The first group on Lake Morton were donated by Queen Elizabeth back in 1957.

After their check-up with the vet, the 71 swans will be returned to the lake.
