9 hurt in crash involving Lynx bus in Orange County

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Several passengers have been taken to the hospital after a Lynx bus was involved in a crash in Orange County Thursday morning.

The crash occurred on North Orange Blossom Trail and Rosamond Drive in Orlando just before 10 a.m.

Florida Highway Patrol said the truck was driving southbound on Orange Blossom Trail in the right lane when it crashed into the back of the stopped Lynx bus. The bus was loading and unloading passengers at the time of the crash.

Orange County Fire Rescue said eight Lynx bus passengers were taken to the hospital and one person declined to be hospitalized.

Orange Blossom Trail was closed as the investigation continued, but was reopened shortly after 10:30 a.m.

The driver of the Toyota, 38-year-old Hector Aguayo, was ticketed for careless driving.

No other details were immediately available.
