ATV accident kills one, injures another

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -

The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating an accident that injured one man and killed another late Saturday evening.

Troopers said 47-year-old Raymond Deleon was driving an ATV on Leather Fern Lane at Gopher Slough Road when he crashed around 9:47 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers said Deleon hit standing water in the road and when he attempted to maneuver around it, he started to lose control.

Troopers said Deleon hit the shoulder of the road, then crashe dinto a tree and a mailbox.

Troopers said Deleon and his passenger, 46-year-old Matthew Creel were both ejected.

Deleon died at the scene and Creel was treated for minor injuries, troopers said.
