LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -

Authorities say an anti-theft equipment discarded caused the evacuation of the Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Orange County Fire Rescue, the device was located by hazardous materials teams at 3:30 p.m. at the mall in Lake Buena Vista.

Deputies have blocked off the entrances so no one can enter the mall during the investigation. The area was reopened after the device was deemed not dangerous.

Orlando Premium Outlets released a statement following the incident, saying, "following a report of a suspicious package, Orlando Premium Outlets – Vineland Ave closed as a standard precaution for the safety of our shoppers and employees.  We have re-opened and business continues as usual."
