Authorities are investigating what led to a fire that sparked up inside a vacant home and the charred body found inside of a vehicle in the garage as a homicide.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

The state Fire Marshal is investigating what led to a fire that sparked up inside a vacant home early Thursday--and authorities are investigating the body found inside of a vehicle in the garage as a homicide.

Neighbors who live in the Summerbrook subdivision called 911 around 4:45 a.m. after seeing flames coming out of a garage of a home on Radiant Circle.

When emergency crews arrived on scene, the fire started to spread into the attic of the two-story home.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it destroyed the abandoned house that neighbors said had been vacant for at least a year.

It's unknown what caused the fire, but a car was found in the garage where the fire is believed to have started. In the car was a body, but investigators haven't identified if it was a male or female, or the cause of death.
