Body of missing boater found in Sanford lake

The body of a man that authorities say fell out of a boat when it hit a channel marker in a Sanford lake has been found, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife officials.

SANFORD, Fla. -

The body of a man that authorities say fell out of a boat when it hit a channel marker in a Sanford lake has been found, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife officials.

Officials said witnesses reported seeing one person in the 16-foot bass boat when it struck channel marker 14 near Palms Island Marina in Lake Monroe at around 4:15 p.m. The man, later identified as 66-year-old William T. Eiland of Sanford, was found just before 6 p.m.

Local 6 news helicopter Sky 6 flew over the lake as dive teams searched through the water near the marker.
