PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -

U.S. Coast Guard crews continue to search for a man who reported having chest pains and then disappeared from his boat in the Atlantic Ocean northeast of Port Canaveral.

Coast Guard officials in Jacksonville got a call at 8 a.m. Wednesday from Patrick Cornelias, 59, of Delaware, who reported having chest pain and tingling sensation in his left arm, according to a news release from the Coast Guard.

The call prompted a response from a crew aboard the 45-foot response boat Medium out of Port Canaveral and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from the Coast Guard station in Clearwater. They found Cornelias’ 42-foot boat about 37 miles northeast of the Port, but Cornelias was not on board, officials said.

Crews are still searching in the area.
