Jewelry thief swipes $7,000 necklace
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

John Forsythe, 29, was arrested after surveillance video caught him swiping a $7,000 necklace from a flea market in Daytona Beach, according to Volusia County deputies.

Deputies say Forsythe opened a glass display case at a jewelry booth and snatched the necklace inside around 11 a.m. on Saturday.  Deputies said the culprit waited until no one was watching, although there are multiple surveillance photos.

The necklace is made of 18 carat gold with a half carat of diamonds in a heart-shaped pattern, deputies said.

Forsythe, who is from Port Orange, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and admitted to the crime, according to deputies. He was charged with burglary and grand theft and will be transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.
