Orlando attorney Dan Newlin teamed up with former world champion Evander Holyfield to bring joy and smiles to seven children battling cancer.

The children, who are at the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital, spent time Sunday with Holyfield and Newlin at his office on Sand Lake Road in Orlando.

"For the kids to be able to see and interact with one of the greatest heavyweights, Evander, who has had more setbacks and more comebacks than any other boxer, and for them to understand that in the context of their own difficulties which they now face, I thought would be really cool," Newlin said.

Holyfield said it meant a lot to him to be involved with the Dan Newlin Miracle Project.

"I was encouraged to overcome poverty, and while I have had my ups and downs, I became successful in boxing," Holyfield said.

The Dan Newlin Miracle Project will continue to look for innovative ways to work with local hospitals and charities.

Newlin, who is well known for his charity work in Central Florida, added, "We will continue to do whatever we can to bring smiles to children who are having difficult times and find great ways to do it."
