Although Florida State returns only one starter from last year's Atlantic Coast Conference championship team, coach Leonard Hamilton is looking for another big year.
Hamilton hopes to start finding some answers Friday night when the 25th-ranked Seminoles host South Alabama in their season opener. Florida State lost six key players, including shot-blocking ace Bernard James, from its ACC championship club, and Hamilton is anxious to find replacements from six newcomers and sophomore sharpshooter Terry Whisnant.
Senior Michael Snaer is the lone starter back from last year's Florida State squad that finished 25-10 before being eliminated by Cincinnati in the NCAA tournament.
Juniors Okaro White, Ian Miller, Terrance Shannon and Kiel Turpin are expected to join Snaer in the starting lineup. Shannon missed most of last year after an early-season injury.
