APOPKA, Fla. -

A security guard at an Apopka apartment complex was arrested on suspicion of pointing a laser at a deputies inside an Orange County sheriff's helicopter.

William Leverance was arrested early Wednesday at the Marden Meadows apartments off State Road 429 near State Road 414.

Investigators said the pilot reported the incident, and when deputies confronted Leverance, who was on duty, a laser was found in his pocket.

No one was hurt in the incident, but lasers can cause temporary blindness for pilots.

Leverance posted bond and was released from jail.
