Deputies: Man faces attempted homicide charge after hitting burglary suspect with car

A man was arrested on charges of attempted homicide after running down another man who literally broke into the wrong house, authorities say.

CASSELBERRY, Fla. -

A man was arrested Thursday on allegations of intentionally running a man down twice with his car after the man literally broke into the wrong house, authorities said.

Crishna Persaud, 32, was arrested on charges of attempted homicide, reckless driving and culpable negligence. 

According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, James Key kicked in the front door of Persaud’s home on Mitchellbrook Lane in Casselberry around 7 p.m. to retrieve a ring that belonged to his girlfriend.

Deputies said that Key realized he was at the wrong house when he saw Persaud, so he ran away.

Persaud then put his young child in his car and followed Key, deputie said.   Persuad caught up to Key near the front of the neighborhood and struck him with his vehicle and hit him a second time after he got up, deputies said. 

Persaud called deputies, who said they found Key lying on the ground with Persaud pacing while shouting profanities.

Both men were arrested, and Key, who was taken to a hospital, faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief.
Both men were being held on no bond.
