ORLANDO, Fla. -

Orange County deputies received a call Tuesday afternoon regarding a suspicious device found at a Publix in the Eastwood shopping center, which caused the closure of southbound Alafaya Trail.

Deputies said the suspicious device turned out to be a plastic bag containing empty metal ammo cans.

As a precaution, Alafaya Trail was closed for two hours. Traffic was backed up in the area earlier Tuesday evening as Orange County hazardous materials teams investigated the incident.

According to deputies, OCSO bomb squad technicians responded and found no explosives. Officials said the incident was called in by a passerby.

There are no criminal charges pending, said deputies.
