Volusia County deputies are searching for the man they say raped a woman while they were walking home from a DeBary bar.

DeBARY, Fla. -

Volusia County deputies said they have identified and interviewed a man they say is a person of interest involved in the rape a woman while they were walking home from a DeBary bar early Friday morning.

Deputies said the 27-year-old victim was at Shotz Sports Bar Thursday night and into Friday morning and stayed at the bar after her friend left. According to the report, the victim left the bar at 1:45 a.m. and started walking home when she was approached by a man, who offered to escort her home.

Deputies said the two started walking together in the opposite direction of the woman's house because the man told her that he needed to stop at his house first.

The man led the woman into a patch of woods, and she told deputies she assumed it was a short cut, officials said.  She said he then attacked her.

The man was later questioned, but as of Monday, no arrests have been made in the case.
