The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says it has located 12-year-old Amanda Anya-Christina McKenna, who was reported missing.

LONGWOOD, Fla. -

A missing 12-year-old girl was found safe Sunday in Seminole County.

About 10:30 p.m., Amanda Anya-Christina McKenna was located near Lake Brantley Drive in Longwood, deputies said. She was in good condition and was going to be reunited with her family. Deputies said she would also be taken to the hospital for a routine checkup.

Deputies said Amanda Anya-Christina McKenna had left her residence on Palmetto Court in Longwood with the intent to walk in the wooded area near Sable Point Elementary School.

Authorities said the ordeal may have started because the girl had seen "The Hunger Games" movie.  According to the watch commander, the girl's sister told authorities Amanda wanted to explore the woods like in the movie.
