Deputies search for teen carjacking suspect after standoff

Authorities are investigating a standoff situation in Orange County where a 15-year-old carjacking suspect has barricaded himself in a home near the Mall at Millenia.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Authorities have identified the 16-year-old carjacking suspect who they believed had barricaded himself in a home near the Mall at Millenia on on Tuesday but was nowhere to be found.

Police said they're still searching for Rijon Williams, 16, who is responsible for multiple carjackings throughout Central Florida.

The standoff took place in the Winter Run subdivision near Conroy Road and John Young Parkway, behind the IKEA shopping plaza.

Orange County Sheriff's Office said they were serving a warrant at 8:30 a.m. when the teen barricaded himself into a residence in the 5400 block of Axiom Avenue. Deputies evacuated 12 homes near the barricaded suspect, but when they went into the home no one was found.
