The boy who nearly drowned while on board the Disney Fantasy cruise ship has been flown back to his home state, according to his parents.

Chase Lykken, 4, was recovering at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children before being flown back to Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Lykken was found unconscious in a pool on the Disney Fantasy on March 30 before the ship left Port Canaveral. He was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

His family has been updating his progress on the web site "Caring Bridge." On Tuesday, doctors told Chase's parents he suffered damage in the part of the brain that controls motor programming, movement and tremors. He also damaged the part of his brain in charge of his temperature, heart rate, thirst, hunger and sweating.

"But he is a fighter," his parents wrote. "He has all of us behind him. The Lord spared his life and for that I am thankful."

Chase will "continue his fight" at St. Paul Children's Hospital.
