The Florida Highway Patrol said traffic is building on Interstate 4 and there could be at least an hour delay getting into the Daytona International Speedway.
Troopers said they will be providing inbound and outbound NASCAR Race Day traffic information for drivers who are coming in and out of the city.
Troopers said inbound race traffic is building on Interstate 4, Interstate 95 and U.S. Highway 92.
Traffic is currently slow moving on I-4 onto north bound I-95, troopers said.
At eastbound Interstate 4, at exit 129 traffic attempting to merge onto US 92 is experiencing heavy eastbound congestion, troopers said.
Troopers said travel time on Interstate 4, from Exit 118 at State Road 44 to the Speedway Parking areas is 1 hour.
Troopers said that is about a 20 mile stretch.
Troopers said the travel times will increase significantly as drivers approach the heaviest race travel surge between 10:30 a.m. and noon.
