Edgewater motorcyclist crashes into father's bike, dies

OAK HILL, Fla. -

A 26-year-old Edgewater man was killed when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of his father's bike, according to deputies.

Michael Francis was killed in the crash, which happened around 12:40 a.m. Monday on Indian Harbor Avenue in Oak Hill.

According to the Volusia County sheriff's deputies, Francis was riding southbound on Indian Harbor Avenue when he struck the back of his father's motorcycle.

Francis and his father lost control of their motorcycles and crashed. Francis' father was not injured.

Neither men were wearing a helmet, deputies said.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of crash.
