A family, including a 7-year-old girl, is robbed by three masked intruders who burst into their Deltona home, according to sheriff's officials.
The home invasion occurred around 1 a.m. at a home in the 3200 block of Pigeon Cove Street.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, three men smashed through a sliding-glass door in the back of the home and held the victims at gunpoint while stealing cash and electronics.
Deputies said one gunman went into a bedroom and ordered two adults to get back on their bed. Another culprit found the third adult victim on a couch, where she pretended to be sleeping, deputies said.
It’s not believed that the girl was confronted during the robbery, and no injuries were reported.
After about 10 minutes inside the house, the intruders fled through the front door, said deputies, who added that the victims believe the gunmen drove away.
The victims said they didn't get a good look at the assailants, partly because the gunmen wore ski masks.
One man wore a yellow zip-up hoodie and had a black handgun. He was about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build. Another wore a dark colored leather jacket.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 386-860-7030 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS.
Deputies initially told Local 6 News that the robbery occurred in the garage of the home.
