ORLANDO, Fla. -

The attorney representing George Zimmerman, who's charged with murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, is seeking new evidence.

Former Local 6 legal analyst Mark O'Mara wants recordings of Martin's voice going back as far as 2010.

O'Mara Tuesday filed motions for subpoenas seeking audio recordings of Martin's voice from Martin's family and the woman who says she was on the phone with Martin just before he was shot dead last year by the neighborhood watch leader in Sanford.

The woman claims she heard Martin ask a man why he was following him before the phone sounded like it fell to the ground and the line went dead.

It's not known if the prosecution will object to the request.

But the court late Wednesday hastily set a status conference hearing for 4 p.m. Thursday, during which O'Mara has asked to discuss scheduling issues.

Judge Deb Nelson has set trial for June 10, but ordered that a self-defense immunity hearing be completed by April 26. O'Mara now estimates that hearing could take two weeks.

It is not known whether any other issues -- including the latest demands for voice recordings and a renewed request to depose Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump -- will be included in the Thursday hearing docket.

Zimmerman, who has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, will not attend Thursday's status conference.

A recent investigation by Local 6 reporter Tony Pipitone shows forensic evidence could be used to argue Martin was likely leaning over Zimmerman when he was shot.  But the investigation also shows that Zimmerman's timeline doesn't mesh exactly with the evidence in the case.
