Girl attacked after bike breaks down

Daytona Beach police are looking for a man they say attacked a teenager who fell while riding her bike.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

Daytona Beach police are looking for a man they say attacked a girl when her bicycle broke down on the sidewalk.

Police said the 15-year-old was attacked around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning on North Atlantic Avenue as she was riding her bike.

Police said the girl was riding her bike to school when she noticed it starting to break down.

Police said the girl had fallen off her bike and was approached by the man as she was laying on the ground.

Police said the man tried to sexually assault the girl as she was down on the ground.  The girl then bit the man, allowing her to escape.

Police said they are looking for a man in his 50's, 5 ft. 10 in., 260 pounds, with thinning gray hair and a beard. He was wearing a red T-shirt and faded blue jeans.
