ORLANDO, Fla. -

The newspaper deliveryman who rescued a man from a burning home will be honored for his heroic efforts on Tuesday.

Ronnell Hudson will receive the Mayor's Hero Award from Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Fire Chief Otto Drozd. The ceremony will happen during the Board of County Commissioners meeting at 9:00 a.m.

Firefighters say Hudson was delivering copies of the Orlando Sentinel in the Meadow Woods subdivision on November 20, 2012 when he saw smoke coming from a home. As Hudson approached the front door, flames began shooting out of the windows.

Hudson heard cries for help and decided to go inside the home. He found a man inside and immediately pulled him out to safety. Deputies later discovered the victim from the home had also been shot.
