Jane's Short and Sweet bakery in Winter Park donates all profits to charity, focusing on organizations that help women and children.
Jane Hursh started the shortbread business two and a half years ago. She says baking is in her DNA. That talent combined with her desire to serve the community led to a bakery featuring more than 30 flavors of shortbread.
Proceeds go to several charities, including Hursh's 306 Foundation, which helps victims of human trafficking.
"At the time we started pursuing these issues, our daughter was 12, which is the national average age and that strikes fear and trepidation in the hearts of parents as son as they hear that information," Hursh said.
Hursh won't reveal exactly how much money she' donated to charity, but does tell Local 6 Jane's Short and Sweet is in it for the long haul.
"We feel this this is the work that will take us to the grave. And as long as my body, as failed as it is, is in a position to keep doing what I'm doing, I will keep doing it and giving back."
