Police on Monday continue to investigate after a woman and her 9-year-old son were shot at a Kissimmee daycare center.

Police were called around 7 a.m. Saturday to the Tiny Tots Child Care Center after gunshots were heard in the area.

Kissimmee police said they found a 32-year-old woman and her son suffering from gunshot wounds.  They had been in their car waiting for the business to open when the incident occurred, police said.

The mother and her child were taken a hospital.  They were expected to survive, but their conditions are not known.

Witnesses said a dark vehicle was seen leaving the area at the time of the incident, according to police.
