WASHINGTON -

NASA will broadcast the first song to be played on Mars and it has chosen a new single by will.i.am.

NASA will debut the artist's new single "Reach for the Stars" on the red planet through the Mars rover "Curiosity" on Tuesday.

The rover successfully landed on Mars in early August. It has spent the past month feeding back new pictures from Earth's neighboring planet.

The song premiere will happen at 4 p.m. and will be streamed live on NASA TV.
