The World Wrestling Entertainment announces that the new performance center will be built in Orlando, bringing 100 high-wage jobs to Central Florida.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

The World Wrestling Entertainment announced on Thursday that the new performance center will be built in Orlando, bringing 100 high-wage jobs to Central Florida.

The WWE talent development system will move to Orlando in the performance cetner, which is 26,000 square-feet, seven training rings, strength and conditioning programs and edit and production facilities.

Florida Governor Rick Scott was in Orlando for the announcement.

"Our economy has created nearly 300,000 new private sector jobs in just over two years, meaning that thousands of Florida families now have the opportunity to pursue their dreams," Scott said. "WWE could have chosen anywhere in the world to house this new global performance center and they chose the Sunshine State."

Orange County mayor Teresa Jacobs also attended the news conference on Thursday.

WWE moving to Orlando solidifies WWE's partnership with Full Sail University, where WWE NXT series is filmed weekly.
