New app helps identify sexually transmitted diseases

The iPhone 3G went on sale in June 2008. It introduced the iPhone App Store and supported assisted GPS and 3G data.

There really is an app for just about everything--and now that includes identifying sexually transmitted diseases.

It's called STD Triage, launched earlier this week in San Francisco, according to The Huffington Post.

You take a photo of the symptoms you are experiencing and send it in anonymously. A team of licensed dermatologists will review it and let you know what they think it could be within 24 hours. They will also let you know if you should make a doctor's appointment.

The creator of the app does say, however, that the app is not a replacement for a doctor's visit. It's meant to be the step in-between, which could help people who may be embarrassed to visit a doctor right off the bat.

The app is free to download, and it's free to submit a photo, but it will cost you $9.99 to review the results.
