Ocala security installer stole $100K in jewelry from home, deputies say

OCALA, Fla. -

Deputies are charging an Ocala man they say stole jewelry and other items worth more than $100,000 while he was installing a security system in the victims' home.

Shawn Michael Garza, 38, faces 13 charges including grand theft after police say he stole and pawned jewelry from a home he was working at along Southwest Fourth Avenue.

Garza admitted to the crime, and detectives discovered that he stole the recording system for the cameras during the burglary, according to the report.

Garza was booked into the Marion County Jail, where his bond is set at $47,000.
