An Orange County deputy accused of breaking into cars at Walt Disney World while on duty pleaded no contest on Wednesday to charges of burglary and petit theft.

Deputy Kirk Smurawa, 40, a former Marine who was with the Orange County Sheriff's Office since 2002, was arrested in August after undercover investigators say they caught him breaking into a car at Hollywood Studios and stealing at least $100 from a purse.

Smurawa was later charged with breaking into two more cars. After the plea, a judge found Smurawa guilty on the two counts of petit theft. He will be sentenced Dec. 21.

The state offered a plea deal on Wednesday consisting of 90 days in jail, two years of probation and 192 hours of community service.

The state also asked that Smurawa forfeit his law enforcement license and not be allowed to return to Disney World property. The judge will finalize the punishment at the sentencing.
