Police say two men were stabbed in a parking lot next to the Popeyes restaurant in Orlando.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Deputies say two men were stabbed in a parking lot next to the Popeyes restaurant in Orlando on Thursday night after they wouldn't give authorities information about an earlier battery.

Deputies have arrested Alexander Lopez, 42, in the stabbing of two men in the parking lot of the restaurant near Lake Underhill Road and Semoran Boulevard. He has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Deputies said Lopez was the victim of a battery earlier in the night and the two men he stabbed witnessed it, but wouldn't give authorities information because they didn't want to get involved.

The victims told deputies that Lopez confronted them in the parking lot about knowing who beat him up earlier and stabbed them several times with a small knife. Officials said Lopez then ran westbound across Semoran Boulevard and hid.

Police had blocked off neighborhoods while searching for Lopez, who was caught later in the evening and arrested.

The victims were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
