Orlando police have charged a teen with burglary after police say the homeowner caught the teen in the midst of ransacking the house and detained the teen until authorities arrived.
James Montavon, 68, said he got a call from a neighbor saying there were two suspicious guys poking around his driveway on Briar Oaks Circle Thursday morning.
When he went to the home, he found broken glass and chased after the burglar armed with a gun, prompting the teen to go into the master bedroom and refuse to come out.
According to the report, the victim shouted that if the teen didn't open the door, he would shoot at him. The teen opened the door and the victim "physically detained" him until police arrived.
Police said the culprit stole an iPod, $6,000 watch and jewelry. He is being charged with residential burglary and petit theft. He was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
Local 6 spoke to the victim, who said he was grateful he didn't pull the trigger on the burglar, who turned out to be 15 years old.
A second culprit is still sought in the burglary, police said.
