ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -

The husband who police say was chasing his wife, causing a crash in Altamonte Springs, will appear in court on Monday on domestic violence charges.

PatrickĀ  Hicks, 39, was chasing his wife when she ran a red light to get away from him, hitting another vehicle that was turning on to Interstate 4 from State Road 436 on Sunday morning, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

According to the police report, Hicks' wife was at a wedding with friends and was on her way to the Orlando International Airport when she was forced off the roadway by a silver vehicle, later identified to be Hicks. As the victim was driving away from Hicks, she crashed into the other vehicle, according to the report.

Police said after the crash happened, they found Hicks beating his wife as she tried to escape over a chain-link fence.

The victim told police Hicks knew where she was by tracking her cellphone GPS and that he thought she was having an affair.

The wife was taken to Florida Hospital Altamonte to be treated for her injuries, police said. Hicks was taken to jail, where he was being held on a no-bond status, pending his 1:30 p.m. first appearance hearing.
