A man found dead in an Oviedo home Tuesday afternoon has sparked a police investigation, according to officers.
Oviedo police said the man, who has only been identified as a man in his 50s, was found dead in a home on Ashland Trail in the Waverlee Woods subdivision Tuesday just after 3 p.m.
Neighbors called authorities to do a well-being check after not seeing the man for several days, according to police.
Carlos Villat tells Local 6 his neighbor lived alone and kept to himself.
"I never saw the man talking to anybody never saw him outside talking to anybody," he said.
Property manager Maritza Westrveld said she never met the man who lived inside the house but says when she came to lock up the house the blood was overwhelming.
"In the bedroom, on the bed, coming through to the hallway through the door it seems like he tried getting out I don't know," Westrveld said.
Police said they believe the death was not natural, but have not classified it as suspicious as of Tuesday night. Neighbors said when they asked police if they should be concerned for their safety they wouldn't respond.
"If it was a violent crime against him then I would be concerned that's why I asked police was there anything I needed to be concerned of," Villat said.
