Almost a year after a soldier from Osceola County left a North Carolina bar and vanished, police hope that a new $25,000 reward will reveal clues to her whereabouts.
Kelli Bordeaux disappeared on Apr. 14 after police said she was seen leaving with a convicted sex offender, who said he dropped her off at her home and left. Bordeaux's friends, family and fellow soldiers stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, N.C., searched for weeks afterward but to no avail.
The 23-year-old army medic had recently been married, but her husband, Mike, was in Central Florida at the time.
"We were very happy. We weren't getting a divorce, nothing like that. I was just visiting my parents ... nothing was wrong with our marriage," her husband said.
The morning after she disappeared, police said her cell phone pinged in the same area that Kelli was last seen, but they never found the phone.
Bordeaux's brother told Local 6 she loved her job, received good grades at school in St. Cloud and at Valencia College. Her brother said although she is 5 feet tall, Bordeaux can fight and used to box. Bordeaux's brother says that's why he hasn't given up hope that she will one day return home.
