OVIEDO, Fla. -

Oviedo police swarmed a home overnight and forced a family outside believing there was a hostage situation after a teen upset over an online video game made a hoax call.

The incident occurred at a house off Bay Club Road.

Police said some kids were playing an online game via their Xbox and got into a fight.

One of the players threatened to hack into the other players' accounts and call police.  That player then contacted authorities about a hostage situation but gave police the wrong address, leading officers to the Bay Club Road home.

Officers stormed the home and told the family to get outside before realizing the call was a hoax.

Local 6 spoke to the family, who didn't want to be identified, but said they were glad the men with guns turned out to be SWAT team members from police.

"We thought it was someone trying to break into the house," the man said. "It was a big relief when we found out it was the police because we knew we didn't do anything wrong."

Oviedo police are trying to track down the Xbox user who pulled the prank.
