Shopping mom leaves snoozing baby in car -- with note
A New Zealand mother has sparked worldwide outrage after she left her sleeping baby alone in a car while she shopped and posted a note to passersby.
Shoppers spotted the newborn in the parked car Saturday and snapped photos, according to the New Zealand Herald.
A note was left with the child that read: "My mum's in doing the shopping, call her if I need anything." The mother's phone number was also left on the note.
Instead of calling police, the bystanders called the mother and waited until she returned to her car. Witnesses said the baby looked healthy.
The photo sparked outrage online after it was posted on Facebook.
Police said the mother could face charges, but they haven't received any reports of the incident.
