Sheriff's detectives are investigating whether an attempted robbery at a Chinese restaurant in Orlando is linked to a recent fatal shooting in Orange County.

Three men were released after being questioned by Orlando police Tuesday morning in a shooting at a Chinese restaurant.

Police said an attempted robbery happened around 9 p.m. Monday at New China at 7649 W. Colonial Drive in Orlando.

According to Orlando police, three men, at least one of whom had a gun, tried to rob the restaurant, but a language barrier hindered their efforts.

Police said a shot was fired inside the restaurant, possibly from the gunmen banging on the cash register.

The assailants fled the store and jumped over a nearby neighborhood wall, police said.  Three men were located and taken in for questioning, but they were later released.

After an investigation, sheriff's detectives said the incident is not linked to a recent robbery at a Chinese restaurant in Orange County in which a woman was shot in the head and killed.
