Teen arrested after shooting at off-duty Orange County deputy, cops say

ORLANDO, Fla. -

An Orange County teen has been arrested after authorities say he shot at an off-duty deputy who witnessed him robbing someone in an apartment complex.

According to the report, Sgt. Peter Marino was working off-duty at the Silver Oaks Apartments on Sunday night when he saw Ridge Gabriel, 17, robbing a person while armed with a gun.

Deputies said Gabriel shot at Marino and Marino fired back, according to deputies. Gabriel has been arrested.

Marino, who has been employed with OCSO since 2001, has been reassigned to administrative duties for a week pending an investigation.
