Teen killed in Interstate 4 crash identified

VOLUSIA CO, Fla. -

Florida Highway Patrol says a teen has been killed after losing control on I-4 in Volusia County.

The accident happened Tuesday night at 7:25 near mile marker 108 which is near the DeBary/Deltona exit.

Troopers say 19-year-old Joshua Belcher of Orange City was traveling westbound on Interstate 4 when he lost control of a pickup truck.  It is not clear why Belcher lost control of the vehicle, according to an FHP report.

Troopers say the teen veered off the road and collided with several trees. He was pronouced dead at the scene.

FHP said the victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. It is not yet clear if alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
