Tractor-trailer carrying sod overturns on Turnpike in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. -

Florida's Turnpike was shut down for hours in Osceola County after a tractor trailer hauling sod overturned in the median, trapping the driver, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred just after 11 a.m. Wednesday near the Osceola Parkway/Dart Boulevard exit in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike.

The FHP said both northbound lanes and southbound lanes were shut down because of the crash, which required a life flight.
