ORLANDO, Fla. -

Despite a fourth-quarter push, the UCF Knights lost to the Missouri Tigers, 21-16, Saturday.

The Knights (2-2) were playing for a third non-conference win this football season.

UCF outshined Missouri (3-2) in total yardage (395-346) and had 21 more plays on offense, but Missouri fought back in the second half with two touchdowns on Marcus Murphy's third punt return for a TD in 2012 and Kendi Lawrence's 10-yard scamper with 9:31 left.

"I think it's a game of consistency and tackling. I thought we gave them some yards that we shouldn't have given up and lacked consistency in blocking in the second half," said UCF head coach George O'Leary.

UCF (2-2) will host East Carolina in their Conference USA opener Thursday.
