Waste management crew discovers grenades in Orlando, deputies say

ORLANDO, Fla. -

A waste management crew discovered up to three grenades Friday morning in Orlando, prompting a bomb squad to respond to the neighborhood, deputies said.

The discovery occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Osprey Creek Lane.

Orange County deputies said the crew spotted the grenades, which were inert, and ammunition when a jacket fell to the ground as they were emptying trash cans.

It's not known what type of ammo was found, but deputies said it appeared to be high-caliber.

Several patrol cars were at the scene, blocking off a roadway in the subdivision, but the incident was cleared around 10 a.m. Friday.
