A woman was attacked at knifepoint outside of an IKEA store in Orlando, according to authorities.

The attack and robbery happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday in the IKEA parking lot right next to the Mall at Millenia.

According to a police report, a man shoved the victim to the ground and put a knife to her throat. Police said the suspect then called her a derogatory name and stole her rent money out of her front pocket.

The 32-year-old victim told Orlando police it happened as she was walking to her car in section B2 of the parking lot. Local 6 spoke with several shoppers who were surprised to hear about the brazen attack.

"I can't imagine it over here on this side of town," said Dana Abney, who frequently shops at IKEA. "It's usually pretty safe and there's always security driving around, so I can't imagine it happening, but I guess it could happen anywhere."

"Basically, it's not even safe to go out anymore," said Ivis Hernandez, who regularly shops at IKEA. "I mean, there's no address for crime, but regardless of the matter, it's kind of scary."

Shoppers said the attack will make them less likely to go out alone.

"Now, I won't come here without my husband," said Pepper Newton. "I come here all the time after work and that kind of freaked me out that someone was held at knifepoint."

"I'm scared to death. I mean, it makes you not want to leave your home in the evening that's for sure," said Abney.

After the attack, the victim said the suspect ran toward the Mall at Millenia, got into a dark colored vehicle and took off. He's described as a hispanic male, about 5 feet 6 inches or 5 feet 7 inches and was wearing a white shirt and jeans or dark pants.
